Students,
To earn extra credit, you will need to respond to a post (SQUILT posts do not count!) and answer the following questions:
1) Had you heard this song before? Do you listen to this song often?
2) What is unclear about the post - or, what do you not understand?
3) What do you agree with in the post? What do you disagree with in the post? Write your reasons.
4) If someone asked you for your opinion about this song, what would you say to them?
Middle School
Your extra credit will be based on the number of posts you make, which will be converted into a "participation point." For each quarter, I will take your "participation points" and divide them by the total number of posts for that quarter to get a percentage.
Participation Points / Total Posts = % of Participation
You will earn extra credit for:
80-100% participation = +4 for the quarter average
50-79% = +3 for the quarter average
30-49% = +2 for the quarter average
1-29% = +1 for the quarter average
You will also earn extra credit for submitting a song request. For each song request, you will earn +5% on a major project for the quarter. You can submit a maximum of two song requests per quarter (10% bonus total). Go to the home page of the blog and enter the information under "Contact/Submit Song Request."
High School
For submitting two songs, you will earn +10% on an assignment of your choice (e-mail me to let me know the assignment) - this applies once per quarter.
For every two songs that you post on, you will earn +20% on an assignment of your choice (e-mail me to let me know the assignment)
